Is this the right FX order and will it kill tone?
« on: November 08, 2005, 07:38:52 AM »
I am thinking of upgrading my FX pedals. In my FX Loop would be Delay, Reverb, Chorus, and GE-7 EQ(solo boost)

In front of amp would be wah, tremolo, vibe, Octaver and Boss tuner.

Is this the correct set up?
Will I lose any tone?

Delay is digitech
Reverb is digitech
Chorus CH-1

Tremolo is Keeley Version
Vibe is Voodoo Lab
Dunlop Wah

Was considering G System but lots of $ and not sure it will sound clean?

The G System is great - gave one a test drive, very pure sounding. Trouble is I've just got rid of all my complex switching rigs and it'd feel like regressing to old ways!!

I like chorus before my delay and reverb.

If it's a vintage germanium octavia type pedal, it'll sound best closer to the guitar.

I'd also experiment with the tremolo and vibe in the loop before the chorus and delays.

you're probably going to lose some tone (top end) with that wah, as well...
