At the end of the day though, if this is pretty expensive who would buy one over a Gibson Standard?
That's exactly what I was thinking. I loved my Epis, they were the last guitars I used for gigging. But since getting sucked into this BKP lark I found myself "having to" replace the LP with a Tokai and finally the SG with a Gibson - just to get a decent home for my Mules and Riff Raffs
The Epis were really nice guitars, but once I started hunting for specific tones/vibes, I found I had to try something different and ended up spending more and feeling that I got my money's worth. I now own two Gibsons (the SG and an Explorer), and I'm finding my "Fender-name-snobbery" problem is starting to take hold on Gibson guitars as well
The pics of these Epis look sweet, and I can actually live with the headstock shape, I think it's quite pretty. But if I get another Les Paul type I suspect it would be a Gibson. And although I lust over the 59 standard look I'm not sure it's worth my while buying into it - whenever I've had one, I've never felt that happy with the look when 'm wearing it... it's a bummer
