MJ - just beat it solo sound
« on: November 07, 2005, 05:40:51 PM »
I love the tone that the guitar has on MJ's just beat it, it sounds very smooth and squealy, what sort of BKP PU would be suited to this style and sound of playing with harmonics everywhere, my MM I think is too tight and mid scooped.  any ideas?

thanks

Have you tried using the Miracle Man, and adding some 4kHz? That will add some snap and bite to the tone.

no actually, but as im making a new guitar, Im wondering about a different PU.  I was thinking maybe something like either a nailbomb or VH11?

Any reccomendations effects wise that would help?

cheers

since EVH played it, I'd really recommend a VHII bridge for that tone (and maybe a Bainzy modded 1959slp   )
