Nailbombs? WarPigs?
« on: November 07, 2005, 08:24:24 PM »
Okay, i thought i was all set on nailbombs, but at music live the only guitar i could find with them in was that blue ibanez (not sure who's) which i couldn't play at all (was it down tuned or something - the strings were flapping around all over the place), so i didnt have a very good go with them really, and couldnt really guage what kind of sounds i could get out of them because of this. However, i did think they seemed a bit lower output than i'd expected.
I played steve's new giger with the warpigs and that sounded amazing thru the JCM (closer to perfect than anything i'd ever heard) - but i'm thinking that if i bought them i'd soon be thinking that i don't need all of this output, and perhaps the 'buckers are too hot modern metal for me.
I'm going for an 80's metal sound, that can drive my jcm800 - i want huge screaming harmonics aswell as a hot smooth saturated tone with crunchy mids. what do you think guys? should i go for the warpigs? was i just being stupid with the blue ibanez at the show? did i have the pickup volume down or something  ?
Thanks for any help
LOVING the Mules!
