Another pickup selection topic
« on: October 30, 2009, 07:45:14 AM »
hey there, just lookin at getting a BKP 4 the bridge position in my project rg (basswood). What would the best pickup be 4 dream theater-ish prog metal, preferably with tight bass? I was thinking maybe a ceramic nailbomb, but then again i really wouldn't hav a clue at this point. Thanks :D

I have an Alnico Nailbomb set in my Ibanez RG7321, this was Tim's recommendation for the petrucci sound, also provides really good clean tones

Yes, I agree with the alnico Nailbomb recommendation.  Very versatile pickup & well suited to a basswood ibanez...
