Who's seeing Alice in Chains?
« on: October 05, 2009, 11:37:28 PM »
Anybody going to catch AIC in London the November?

It's gonna be my first live gig in a LONG while and has alot to live up to.. I've seen them many times since Facelift first came out and I can't wait.

I'm gonna miss Layne but the new album is pretty, pretty good. So fingers crossed!

New album is absolutely awesome! I prob won't be seeing them live though, I have given myself a mission of paying off all my debts before spending any money on pleasures for myself when I finally start my job, heh.

I hope you have an awesome time! If the live vids and new album are anything to go by, you're going to have a blast!  :D

I really wanna go! BKP meetup in order if enough of us go? London is closest to me but they seem to be playing 3 gigs in London in nov. Confusing.

I saw them on the Facelift tour supporting Megadeth and The Almighty, its just not be the same without Layne (saw the new lineup at Download a couple of years back).

Heads up, they're supposed to be on Jools Holland tonight. They were on on Tuesday, anyway, but I couldn't get online at the time to warn you.

They were pretty good last night. I've never been a huge fan but they played most of the "big songs" so it wasn't too much stuff I didn't know which was good. They made an arse of Them Bones though. Poor singer trying to decide whether he should follow guitar or drums, since they weren't remotely in time.

I got guesties, which is a plus, I probably wouldn't have been chuffed to pay for it, but it was good for free  The missus is a big fan and she loved it, so that says it's a good show  :)

Did Jerry Cantrell always stand centre stage when they played with Layne? Or has he just decided it's the JC show since then?

Also, evidentally the smoking ban does not apply to AIC

Jerry was on the right hand side of the stage at Download a few years ago

To be fair, it's hardly a "JC show" ego trip, he is now the "front man" of AIC.

He always sang a big chunk of the vocals, on the new album he sings most of the lead vocals.   He always wrote most of the songs.  It would be weird to put the new guy centre stage.

The other cat still sings FAR more than him over the course of the set.

I just always think it bizarre to see a singer side stage, especially when he's not playing anything, which he isn't for much of the set. It puts me in mind of the Iommi ego trip back in the day.

I'm watching them on the Jools holland show, probably recorded it a few nights ago. Jerry is central on this as well, but he is clearly doing more singing + lead guitaring.
