Quandry time!

I'm primarily an acoustic guitarist, and for the last few years have played a wonderful Larrivee LV-19E.  The Larrivees are utterly wonderful guitars, but the only problem I have had with mine is that when I'm singing and strumming, and hopping up and down the neck I can occaisionally go astray due to the LV-19E having REALLY dinky dot fret markers.  You can hardly see these in a well lit room, let alone a dark pub!

This has awakened Acoustic G.A.S!

Now the obvious solution is sell my Limited Edition LV-19E and buy the more ornate non-limited LV-10E from Larrivee. They're both Rosewood bodied and spruce topped guitars so I know I'll love the tone, but now...........

Those bar-stewards at PRS decide to produce an acoustic guitar (the Angelus) and it's won awards and plaudits since it came out.

What to do?  Wait for the PRS? Buy the Larrivee? 
Or do any of you know of a Rosewood bodied electro-acoustic (it has to have electrics) by any other manufacturer out there?  Needs to have a cutaway too.
I know Taylor and Martin are the obvious choices, but I've never had a Martin I get on with (very much like me and Fenders), and I've never played a Taylor that I was ever 100% happy with the tone, even though the Taylors playability was superb.

hows about getting the fretboard markers modified on the guitar you like?   depending on whats there it doesnt have to be a massive job - unless you want  fibre optic ones ;)

as mush as i LOOOVVVEEE prs, and i mean love, i dont care what they have won award wise, when it comes to acoustics, larivee = god.
get a new larivee or get new inlays,
no mass made guitar will stand up against a 100% hand made guitar, so get a custom larivee hehe

I will never consider buying another acoustic guitar again unless he made it.

If the fretboard markers are the only problem, why get rid of a guitar you like so much?

It seems like a definite case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.  Like me selling my Hamer Vector just because I got pissed off with the EMG pickups.   :(

I have contemplated getting it upgraded with new fancy fret markers, but 2 things have slowed the progress of that idea.
1.  I'm yet to find someone who could do it quick enough so that I could send it off and get it back between gigs.  I only have the one acoustic guitar!
2.  G.A.S.  The guitarists worse problem.  There is a large part of me that was very taken by a Brazilian Rosewood bodied Larrivee LV-10E, and I have that dreaded "This would be the ultimate, and last acoustic guitar I need".

I have to admit that my LV-19E was brought primarilly because it was the best value Larrivee I could afford at the time with the solid Rosewood body.  The LV-10E is the uber Larrivee, and a lot of them do get the special treatment from Jean Larrivee's wife as far as some seriously impressive inlay work is concerned on the headstocks.
The problem with a G.A.S attack is that the mind says "just a small upgrade" and then the guitarist kicks in and you start thinking........"well.......what else could I get?".  Non guitarists (I.e. Wives!) don't seem to understand these daft primeval urges of the unhinged guitarist.

Have you thought about Brook Guitars. Not cheap, but not ridiculous either for fully handmade. And they're crafted in Devon like our beloved pups. I've had one for 4yrs (a Lyn) and it has stunned me and everybody who's heard it.

I have Taylors and martins FWIW..the newer Martin D-18, with a fast neck/good setup, is incredible with -LR Baggs Dual Source Pup///_I play hundreds of acoustic gigs a year, and I cannot go on enough about this combo-the newer D-18 neck is sick-this guitAR IS SOOOOO easy to play!!good luck on your quest!

+1 for Wev & Phil - if you like it - don't change it - sure that you could schedule something with a luthier/repairer to get it done in a day

I don't know if this helps, but Danny Gatton used to use Cubic Zirconia as side dot position markers, so they'd catch whatever light there was even in dim conditions.
