Yeah I thought about posting Saphire Blue. For my money Larry Carlton's got it all, but he never shoves it in your face. The bottom line for me is musicality. And not necessarily in a technical way.

Peter Green didn't exactly come up short on A Hard Road, the follow up album. I love this track The Supernatural.

Is that the first time feedback was used for musical effect? Anyone know an earlier feedback solo?

There's feedback on the intro to I Feel Fine but IIRC there were a few blues records that have some feedback previous to The Beatles.
