Like most high profile pop artists she probably has very little to do with her music, look to the producers for that. For Nuno it's a high profile gig that likely pays a whole lot more than anything else he's done lately. And musical mediocrity continues unabated.

What constitutes high profile? Cause with the VERY high profile pop artists, a lot of them are very involved in their music. Certainly far more so than many members of "rock" bands are. And even if they aren't who cares? Effectively it'd just make you a session singer, and nobody holds session musicians in the same disregard as pop stars.
There's a lot more mediocrity in rock music currently, since the advent of myspace, than there is in pop music. We've some fantastic pop music about at the minute.
