I agree that (where possible) we should support our home-grown produce (whether physically or metaphorically).

Unfortunately, people always SAY they will support UK manufacturing, but then when it comes down to it, they vote with their wallet 99% of the time.  Do I blame them? - no, its a tough time at present (financially) and the pennies must be taken care of.

ok, I'm off to watch my valve TV made by Pye in the grand ol' days

Ohhh... I really like those tits... wawasswetalkinabout?

I think it's a good thing that China are making more diverse products, Britain during the industrial revolution wasn't a beacon of human rights either.

Give it time and the workers will demand better treatment, China's communism will fall quicker by being exposed to capitalism.

Trouble is we haven't got capitalism right here yet, so maybe they will show us the way.

It all takes time.

I haven't got anything intelligent to add to this China discussion, and I'm not really one for the laddishness.... but wow those are really nice blue tits.  Interesting face too.

Interesting face too.

I thought that too... the items themselves are are bit too generous for my liking, but I can appreciate the workmanship and effort that went into it... boutique top, PTP, and so on.

Most impressive.

Apparently China has been building two power stations every WEEK to cope with their expanding economy all fueled by America/Europe's need for cheap labour (over two thirds are coal fired). Not wanting to get into the global warming arguement but this is a great way for America and Europe to improve their own carbon footprint by dumping manufacturing on China and then complaining about Chinese carbon emissions.

On a more serious note, I was greatly impressed by the blue jugs. I think Shobet really summed up this complex arguement.
