Coil-Splitting
« on: March 16, 2010, 10:26:10 AM »
Hello hello, first time on the forums. Purchased a set of pups for my Squier Tele Custom not so long back (riff-raff bridge and Mule neck) and despite being totally happy with the sound have stumbled on a new 'want'.

Y'see, had my hands on a Baja tele the other day and there is an interesting little button that put the pickups out of phase (am i correct here?).

Anyway, long story short, i wonder how easy it would be to install such wiring on my tele to split the Mule into single coils and, more importantly, if it'd even be worth the hassle.

Thoughts?

If you've got 4 conductor wiring on your Tele pickups, it should be quite simple.

You just need to decide how you want to switch it.  Mini toggle?  S-1 switch like on the Baja?
