Need Help Choosing Pickup.
« on: March 30, 2010, 06:06:36 AM »
Okay, my birthday is comin up and i decided that, out of all my guitars, my strat was next to be modified. It's a '94 Fender with run-of-the-mill single coils. I'm planning to only have a bridge humbucker, wire it for coil-tapping, and install an emg-afterburner. The pickups im using in my current guitars are Seymour Duncans (Dimebucker in 1, Dimebucker/59 in another 1, and Invader in the last). Im not too fond of the invader because its too dark and muddy for my tastes. As you could tell i need a pickup that has the attack of a dimebucker, but with more tone. oh and it needs to sound good in an alder body. My favorite music style to play is Thrash, Groove is a close second. But i also like to unwind once in a while and play a lil Led Zep, SRV, and the Eagles. So if there is a pickup that can cover all those, i'm set.

Thanks, Nick

the miracle man would be a great improvement over the dimebucker
but for alder, I'd pick a nailbomb
it's smoother and more versatile, but still tight and very aggressive
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat
