7-string br00talz with the Nailbomb (TIGHTness content)
« on: May 07, 2010, 11:04:00 PM »
Hey dudes,

I'm doing some good old fashioned uni work procrastination today, so I thought I'd record a stupid little mixtest in an utterly tasteless style, let me know what you think:

Amp model is the New Recto, through Redwire cab impulses. Guitar is an Ibanez RG7321 with a regular alnico Nailbomb in the bridge.

the alnico nailbomb can sound definitely tight and brutal, i know it very well... today i got my ceramic nailbombs working and they sound even more grindy!

Thanks guys!

And yes, I used the "New Recto" amp model on my Axe-FX, not a real amp :)

Nolly how you hook up the Axe-fx to your DAW? Line out to Line in on an audio interface?

Wicked, cheers guys!

JDC, yeah, I'm running a direct out to my interface (it's not a line out though, since it's not at line level :) )

Here's another clip, rather than making yet another thread:

I found Pete's Meshuggah youtube video by accident the other day, as he runs his engl preamp out into a duet interface thingy, any idea if that acts as a DI or does it just act as a soundcard?

As I've no idea if preamp out is line level or not, I've got a -10/+4 dBV switch on mine.

I did a quick test record last night with my preamp straight into the line in on my soundcard with cab impulse :D

Speaking of impulses, how does the redwire impulses you have compare to free ones?

Cheers!
