I have a Raines Fusion Elite
http://www.mattraines.com/pages/product_display_fusion_elite.cfmand after a set up and some heavy guage flatwound strings, I found I was less than thrilled about the bridge pickup. The neck is warm, fat, and great, while the bridge sounds thin and a bit brittle. I called up Nick at Axe Palace to discuss my first BKP purchase to fix this problem. After a long discussion, we (he) supposed that the organic, tight, low and low-mid strengths of the C-Pig would compliment the bright spruce top and maple neck-through design. This was important to me since I play only rhythm, and nearly every tone I could want from this guitar are achievable through the neck, except for some heavy crunch and beyond
I have a Crate V32 Palomino for some real tube action when playing out, my signal chain looking like this:
Guitar -> EXH POG 2 -> Blackstar HT OD -> AMP (fx send)-> EHX Stereo Mistress -> Line 6 DL4 delay -> (fx return) Amp
I also use Guitar Rig 4 on my computer for recording, and have settings on there ranging from dry and wet clean channels, to light and medium crunch, to 2 brootally evil channels (djent and chug).
In the next couple days I will record some riffs w/ the current bridge on various settings, then re-record the same riffs w/ the same settings using the C-Pig. This should be epic, and I can't wait to hear how a pickup as wicked as the C-Pigs sounds in this style of guitar.
Are there any others who have done something like this? Let me know your thoughts, and I will update you all as soon as I have updates.
I can't wait to be part of the BKP fam!
