Advice - Richie Kotzen
« on: June 19, 2010, 02:41:11 PM »
Hi,

I know Richie Kotzen uses DiMarzio pick-ups... but I'd like some advice on which Bare Knuckle pups will get me similar tones/performance of two Fastracks (neck & middle) and PAF Pro bridge.  Although I'm not certain he uses the PAF bridge pro - may be someone here knows?

I'll be using the pickups in a Strat HSS.

Cheers,

Monty

Sorry - just noticed a thread that has all the answers!

It's the Chopper T in the bridge of the Tele, and a Twang King in the neck.

In the Strat they are  Dimarzios, but a custom one off... according to their customer services they are a plain single coil, with no stacking/hum canceling at all.. To me they sound quite plain, very even/flat sounding.

I know this is a NK forum but if you want that Kotzen tone (tele) i'd put a Chopper in the bridge position. And maybe a twang king in the neck. Another tone he uses on the Tele is the series parallel wiring for both pickups on at the same time. Very usefull.
