BKP-91 in my Gold Top
« on: June 09, 2010, 10:35:16 AM »
Hi
First time I've posted any kind of noise up.
This is my new BKP-91's (A-IV) into Tonelab ST then into Tascam GTR1.
No amp or PC

Still have some recording/timing/technique/playing issues to deal with
But that has always been the case

a fine effort clyde, no noise there, just gorgeous tone.having no backing makes it a great demo of this pup.
i'm happy to offer solidarity as a member of the 'low tech' recording club myself though.long live tascam

Thanks gordiji.
I've put a different clip up. It's the same track, just slightly less f*ckups.

Another great tele offering from yourself. you have inspired me to sort my jazz/country scales out properly.
However I'm putting the Baja twisted tele neck pickup back in. just can't get BG 50 neck to sound to sound how I'd like it

Even without an amp, this is one of the best demos I've heard to really showcase the natural sound of the pickups. Beautiful clarity and depth of tone there, a really nice all-round balanced tone and I've got to say you held the beat pretty well with the tempo-matched delay time. Those things can fry your brain if you stray too far from the beat :)

Great track, it's really hypnotic somehow!  :D

What guitar is it by the way?  I seem to remember a thread where you said you were looking for a goldtop, but I don't know what you bought.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Very kind words gents. Ta muchly.
I've heard so many great demos on pickups I was looking for on here. Hope this helps someone else.

PQ you remember that thread? Brother you are spending far too long on here
I was looking for an Orville or an Edwards but saw a '89 Gibson Standard on ebay for a reasonable price.
The P100's it came with were fine but it was always my intention to put BKP's in. Yet again pickup height really makes a big difference
Changed the caps for Tims K40Y PIO's. Put on a set of Thomastik Sliders. Nearly good to go.
Just got to sort out an amp for it. All suggestions welcome.

Thanks again guys.

Haha, tell me about it!

I don't remember every thread, but I'm a fan of goldtops with P-90s so it stuck in my mind.
