Help with tuning
« on: July 30, 2010, 02:37:34 PM »
It seems that my left hand doesn't know it's own strength! I have recently started back stringing my les pauls (where you put the string in back to front & then pull them back over the stop bar) & find it sounds absolutely amazing...one problem though is, my G & B string seem to be going out of tune a lot more often. Has anyone else come across this before & if they have any remedys?

When you top wrap it, you need to bend further for the same raise in pitch. Could be a binding nut (as usual). Press down on the strings behind the nut, if they don't come back to pitch, this is your problem and you need to lube up and/or file out the slots a bit.
