Single Coils to complment Painkiller
« on: July 27, 2010, 11:42:34 PM »
I've already gone through a set of DiMarzio Area single coils, and the problems where insane. I'm looking for 2 single coils that will work well with my Painkiller.  The main problem I had with the DiMarzio's was that, first, the volume difference was huge, too much to work around, two, for some unknown reason, the neck pickup liked to buzz and had very little output. I've switched the middle pickup to the neck and still the same problem, I had it rewired by a tech and still the same problem, so I sold the pickups, and I'm wanting to buy some Barenuckle single coils. I emailed Tim and he recommended the Trilogy Suite single coils.

I'm not going to give ya'll a type of tone I'm going for, cause I have a rather unique tone, thanks to my Valveking, and I like my tone, but I need some single coils that wont conflict with the Painkiller, and can do some hot rodded blues and jazz stuff when I want it too, then do some metal soloing when I want them to.

Any help is much appreciated, I plan on buying the pickups on Thursday if otherwise.
Working on it.

I was going to say Trilogy too, and then I saw that was what Tim recommended.  They will do exactly want you want.
So many pickups, so little time

Thanks for the reply, that's what I figured, I just wanted to make sure, cause if I run into the same electrical problems I had before, I'll be really mad. I've been so happy with my Painkiller that I hope the BKP TS's will just solve all my single coil problems.
Working on it.
