I've already stated my preference, but I would advice anyone to try Pyramid strings - they really are very good (and cheap, less than £3.00 a set at Thomann). I've had the same sets on my LP and Tele for about three months now with countless rehearsals on them and at least six gigs - both still sound great and hold tuning perfectly.
I've started tuning down to Eb recently to make the high notes easier for our singer, plus it also gives my arthritic hands a break from 11s in standard tuning (which shreds your fingers playing four nights a week).
