Actually you've got a good point
Martyn had the ideas pretty well sorted out although it got a whole lot better and clearer once we had a chance to put our heads together once we had taken the project so far .
It was only once we got the Gibson ?Maestro style vibrola on the guitar that we realised how it made that end of the body feel more Gibson /Firebird like and it made sense to rear mount the controls as Gibson would do and also the trem got in the way of where a Jaguar scratchplate's volume and tone would have been, so a quick bit of creative thinking came up with a more elegant option, which manages to blend the two iconic guitars together a bit more on the body than we had first envisaged.
Still a few challenges ahead as we would really like to find a control plate from a Fender Bass 6 to let us have a special wiring option that we'd like to have - like this one (if anyone knows of one let us know)
