NGD: Ibanez RGD 320 (first extended scale guitar)
« on: September 25, 2010, 08:32:42 PM »
I went out into town today and tried about 15 different guitars including, fenders, gibsons, esp, ibanez and a few deans (even though id never want to own one)

I ended up trying a few of these RGD's to pick out the best one and found one that was really balanced and loud acoustically and it just plays like a dream

I thought the extended scale would be a problem at first but i barely notice it at all and im loving the tension in D standard.

anyway this is the guitar

I got the white one as the gray burst ones werent actually a burst at all in person and were just a boring gray and well i love white gutiars anyway.

The stock pickups arent actually half bad (not exactly BKPS but theyre decent) The only problem i have with them is theyre a fair bit brighter than the BKPS i have in my RGA.

Currently i have no plans to replace them.

I cant find my camera atm so pics will be up tomorrow with a soundclip too, im thinking something by testament should suffice.

If you arent keen on it having a trem then theres also the version with the gibralter standard bridge which is the one i have on my RGA its really solid and you can really fine tune for the intonation with it.

as promised heres a clip, I have decided that i actually really dislike the bridge pickup on this after playing my BKP'd RGA straight afterwords

So i've sent an email to Tim to check what he suggests im kinda hoping he says the painkiller will work well as i've fancied trying one for a while.
