Rotosound guitar strings- round or hex core?

I put the rotosounds that came with my pickups on my strat and they feel really nice and sound fantastic. Does anyone know if these are round or hex cores?

Take one of the cut off parts from past the machine head and unravel it, you'll see.

Round cores are said to be more dense sounding since the the wound part is making 100% contact with the core, i heard theres also more sustain and is more vintage sounding. hex core are easier to manufacter and the industry standard and have better inotation because they can be wound very tight. Its a matter of preference. I currently have DR tite fits which are round core and they feel and sound really nice, it does sound a tad more deeper than the ernie balls i used before which were hex core.

difference to me is that 9's sound like 10's and feel like 8's. not sure how they managed the last bit lol

I've been happy with my strings for ages, bar the odd mishap, and suddenly I've got that "the grass might be greener..." feeling, that "perhaps it might be better if..." feeling, that feeling that drives so much of the GAS round here :lol:

the only part i disagree with there is the more vintage sounding part, however DR's do make a range of strings for different sounds. I used to use them to play metal. i use tite fits to, but for guaranteed metal (if thats your thing) they do a dimebag set. in fact i think he was the reason i started using them.

i found compared to ernies and virtaully every other string i played, they were less stiff. not loose as such, just easier to work with

Haha, i'm exactly the same way. I just started obsessing about strings just a couple days ago...
I'm also the same way about tubes. Im very satisfied with my tone right now but theres that urge of trying something different because it may sound better. The "Grass might be greener" is the perfect way of saying it.
