Cold sweat neck clean tones?
« on: October 04, 2010, 03:28:15 AM »
Hey everyone
I was wondering how the coldsweat neck sounds when split and and how well it sounds clean? I have a mule and it just isn't cutting it for me. The clean is really nice, but they overdrive tone just isn't what I expected. I'm not using insane high gain either. It sounds really round and lacking some treble mabye. Or do you recommend I change the pots to 550k? If that will make a difference. Any suggestions are appreciated!

upgrade pots first and even consider a better cap on the tone pot if it's a ceramic disc one
The re-evaluate the mule
If stiil not hitting the mark look further afield
Either CS or black dog might be good

i haven't tried the mule, but if it's lacking some treble i'm not sure the cold sweat would fix that, mine is pretty warm.

A VHII in the neckpostion? Brighter than the Mule, I reckon.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

I have an AV Mule and it sounds bright compared to my AIV, and brighter than my VHII.
