can these strings be any good?
« on: October 30, 2010, 08:41:24 PM »

the price well under a quid for a set!

any experience?

please reply if you have some experience or anybody knows somebody else who might have had some experience with budget strings... they are for my son's first guitar so tone is not as important as decent quality and no intonation issues.

This might not help specifically with the strings, but without exception all of the Harley Benton products I have used / own / heard about from other people have been astounding value for money. Their cabs are work-horses, their guitars and basses are brilliant value for money and again are hard-wearing, sturdy pieces of equipment, and their amps are more of the same. For under a quid, you can't go wrong getting a set just to try out at least.  :)

These are budgetstrings, but if you like them, why not for this price. I stick to d'Addario's.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

For £1 I would just buy a set and see. What have you got to lose (apart from £1 of course)
I think I hate being indecisive.

I used to work with the guy who dreamed up the name Harley Benton ( a totally fictitious name) - the owner of Shadow pickups : Joe Marinic

i bought a couple of their guitar straps and i didn't think they were that great. Obviously that will probably not affect what their strings are like...

for exactly the same price the Warwick straps look much nicer to me. I ended up oredering the Warwick strap.

yeah i don't think they had the warwick straps when i got them... or at least I didn't notice them.

I get the dangleberry music ones now, they seem to be as nice as i've seen for the money (or even quite a bit more)...
