BKP Aftermath?
« on: October 21, 2010, 07:13:11 AM »
Anybody heard much about these new pickups yet?  Has there been any announcements or potential release dates?

Im sure Tim can confirm everything, but from what ive heard so far about it, it seems to be a modified version of the Cold Sweat with more aggressive mids.

No, no, no and no.

Sorry.

This is all my fault. I got a pre release aftermath to try out and I blabbed and underestimated the blab-spreading coefficient. I have 2 of them and there is one other lucky chap that managed to get one before the kybosh was put on the pre-release orders, and one other fella that Tim also offered it to. Other than us 3, my understanding is that no one gets one before release.

I also gave it the name Aftermath, and I dont know with complete certainty that that will be its name on release.

Its not a modified cold sweat, its a new design.

So anyway, they arent available yet. You'll know when they are.

No idea. The bridge has been done for about a year or so (and what a $%&#ing pickup it is!) and the neck wasnt ready last I checked.

They'll be ready when they're ready.

Not meaning to be pedantic (or rub salt in the wound), but Feline managed to persuade Tim to make me 7-string version as well... :)

Did he now?

Theres no  wound at all; I knew the moment I got them that they were going to be a full-fledged BK at some point.

Its interesting though that thats still a 'longtime customer/friend of Tim/BK' that got it (feline and I imagine you if you'd asked yourself). Random folks that tim doesnt know have been refused. Theres rather a lot of lamenting of 'ca not haz, no out yet' replies being posted about over at 7string.org at the moment. Its just another extra mile that tim will go for regular customers.

Do you have them yet? What do you think if so?

I got mine back in August so perhaps the door has been shut to everyone since then...

I like it, it's really good for playing down in B.  As Feline said to me when we were playing it at the workshop, "it doesn't have the RRRRRRR of the Painkiller" - but it's really clear & powerful.  I'd have probably been happy with the Painkiller but decided to ask for something different & am glad I did.

As an aside, the Holy Diver in my other 7 is really, really good too.  It doesn't get massacred by the Am (i.e. I can swap back & forth between the two 7s without feeling one is underpowered) & I'm surprised as just how clear it is down in B... :)

Ah, totally missed that!

I'm pretty certain it was well before august. More like febuary.

Glad you like it. I think the HD is the only high output BK bridge I havent tried; must give it a whirl one day.
