What about the new Blackguards?
« on: October 28, 2010, 07:41:11 PM »
So.. lots of discussion about the Aftermath, but what about the new additions to the Tele lineup? There is no description them so far on the Blackguard page, so does anyone know the specs?

I'm sure some people have been testing the unofficial versions like with the Aftermath, and I have seen people discussing a 'secret' Tele pickup that was like the BG coil with a 10k wind, so is that one of them, and what do they sound like?

I wish I knew but they look interesting- almost worth buying another Tele for.

Well, they would require owning a tele.

Sorry, but as great as Tim's pickups are, and they really are, I'm not going there.

I dont remember the details, since its not my thing it sort of drifted out of my head in a couple of hours, but I was talking with tim about the new pickups, and they're there to fill in the 'gaps' in the tele lines. Which gaps exactly I dont recall, and how they fill them I wasnt told in any detail and didnt ask, but they sit in between existing models in output/character/tele pickup lineage (with some things that were missing that are completely period correct).

Hope this helps, sorry I cant be of more use.

I can say with near-certainty that you will LOVE the aftermath.

Since I have a Fender Tele (American Series) I'm curieus about these 'ghost'-pickups.

For the full details on the new tele pickups, its best to ask tim I think. I just know what I've said - he'll be able to tell you exactly what vintage spec they were matched to, what gaps they fill in the range etc etc etc.
