I'm Building a Guitar with BKP's and i need advice :)

Im putting together my own custom guitar from Warmoth and i've decided on BKP after playing my friends nailbombs.

I play prominently Metal and Jazz. my belief is that it's easier to have a low gain tone with high output pickups than it is to have a high gain tone with low output pups. so i usually seatle for high gain pups - seymours and emgs.

as i'm thinking of getting a pair of calibrated Nailbombs myself i've heard that the higher the output of the pickup, the less tone comes from the body wood.

is this true?

That has been the case in my (admittedly megre ) experience, which is why I like having the option of coil taps.
 You could always just back off the volume if you want more of the wood to come through.

In my experience, the miracle man I've used in two different guitars had similar voicing, but different responsiveness and attack in those two guitars. I have tried both a black dog and a miracle man in the same two different axes, and they both reflected the brighter attack and faster tracking in my custom when compared with the ibanez stage backup I have.

I now use an aftermath, but haven't tried it in the ibanez (and won't - it's not going ANYWHERE!).

I would say in my limited experience that both high and lower output BKPs still reflect the tone of the wood and respond differently in different guitars.
