I have a Miracle Man in my Les Paul Custom 68 Reissue and IMO it sounds very different from an EMG, but still does a fantastic Zakk Wylde sound. The Miracle Man has a much bigger low end, more low mids, and is smoother, more organic and more refined overall. The EMG is more compressed, saturated, and has this really aggressive high mid voicing to it that the Miracle Man does not have and the EMG is overall much brighter, and more biting. Some people may find the EMG shrill, but I don't. I actually really like the voicing of the EMG and wish Bare Knuckle would make a pick up with that same high mid aggression, but even though I like the EMG's voicing, when I compared it to my BK pu's they still completely blew away the EMG's. I have a Pain Killer in my Dean CFH and was hoping it would have what I liked about the EMG's high mids, but it still was a very different animal. I have not played the other contemporary BK's, but from what I heard about them I don't think any of them will sound like an EMG. I have an Aftermath coming soon that will replace my Pain Killer in my Dean and I'll let you know what I think about that when it comes.
