throwing some aftermaths in my rg7321
« on: December 22, 2010, 05:42:14 PM »
I read in another thread in the tech forum about someone doing this exact same mod to their 7321, and it was mentioned that in order for the switching to work correctly you have to have the polarity of the neck pickup reversed.

Is this right?

yeah you just need the neck pickups magnet reversing tim can do this easily its so that the joint parrallel in position 2 works (inner coils of both humbuckers)

if it wasn't flipped it would be an out of phase sound and would get a fair bit of hum going on too

oh yeah also this only counts if you are going for the standard ibanez 5 way switching

if it is only 3 way then you dont need this doing

Is there an up charge for this option?

i dont think so they just put the magnet in the other way around when making the pickup.

Tim never mentioned a charge when i was discussing it with him.
