Question about the aftermath
« on: January 02, 2011, 10:04:54 PM »
I'm not looking into buying anything at the moment since i just purchased a new sat of bare knuckles a few weeks ago. But I was just wondering how clear the aftermath is. I own a cold sweat and that pickup is incredibly clear, but I've been reading about how precise the aftermath is. Is it more clear than the cold sweat? Is it the clearest in the contemporary range? Also how does it sound for low tunings, dissonant chords and sweeps on the low strings? Also how aggressive is it? To me ,in the clips it seemed to have little saturation. Can it be dialed for saturation? I'm not looking for advice on a purchase, I just want some more knowledge on this newer pickup. Thanks

The Aftermath is certainly clear, but not as much as the Cold Sweat IMO. It's voiced with a fat and snarling midrange, so it's definitely got plenty of aggression. It does have a fairly dry sound, so while achieving heavy saturation is not impossible, pickups like the Miracle Man or Warpig would get you there more easily.
Bear in mind that the new site going live tomorrow has clips of each pickup, so you might find it best to simply wait and hear for yourself :)

ahh alright man thanks. I cant wait to see what the new site is like. Im not looking to buy anything yet, but eventually I think id want to own a guitar with an Aftermath. I imagine it slays in low tunings, I'll definitely look at those clips, hopefully there will be some newer ones as well.
