Ceramic Nailbomb : Capacitors?
« on: January 03, 2011, 08:20:09 PM »
Hey all, I just purchased some Ceramic Nailbombs, they should be here in a few weeks...

Anyways, one of my friends recommended I get a proper capacitor, and I really know nothing about that piece of electronics. He said I should get a recommendation from someone at BKP, ie, teh forumz, so I'm wondering what value capacitor I should stick in there.

If your curious about my sound, here's my music video from a little bit ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9or-_mODgQ

If it helps, I want to have only a volume pot, and either a (coil split switch) or a (push/pull tone knob/coil splitter) in my guitar.

Thanks!

Killer band, I love trios.  I assume you're going to have a tone pot, you'll need one for the capacitor to have it's effect of course.  I'd go with a .02 (some are listed as .022) with those pickups.

As far as the type of capacitor I like them all really, after listening to your band I think either a ceramic or a PIO would work, the difference is a PIO is a bit smoother/sweeter sound and the ceramic a bit more raw sounding, these differences are subtle in a band mix.

Enjoy those C-bombs,  :)
