shield wire? vintage wiring for 2 H 2 vol 2 tone

Hello,
I'm thinking of rewiring my guitar completely since the tone pot is behaving oddly.
I would like to know if the wires used for the electronics have to be shielded?
Also, what are the differences between vintage and non vintage wiring for 2humbuckers, 2 vol, 2 tones?
where can i find the schematics?

On the B.K.P. Main ( shop ) page, there is a section labeled "Support" - where all the schematics ( including 2 volume, 2 tone 50s wiring ) are layed out in luscious colour and detail.  There is also a .F.A.Q section in that same area.
