Has anyone tried this? My fear is they will be too bright as they are relatively bright in my SG.

Yep, Riff Raffs sound very nice in Semi's, but as you say they will be bright. Stormy mondays sound very nice, but the best we've heard in a semi so far are the Mississippi queens.

I think you're right it will have to be a pair of MQ's, shame 'cause I like the Riff Raffs but I need to sell the SG they're in  (1 of 3, the others have nail bombs and stock p90's).

This coming weekend is pickup installation and moving weekend!  I will be moving my Riff-Raff/Stormy Monday set from my chambered Les Paul to my 335, the Abraxas IV set will move into the chambered LP from the 53, and the 53 will get the set of Black Dogs that I picked up as my crimble pressy!

So next week I will have an answer!

I thought it was a little bright when I first put it in, but I quickly got used to it and it is a very full sound.  I posted some clips of it a while ago in the players section, but they were done using an amp modeller (j-station), not the real amp.

i'm looking to upgrade my 335's to BKP's (was originally thinking mules) and am also wondering what the 'best' set would be for my tastes (my 335 type playing is inspired by the likes of bill nelson, alvin lee (even the sound that the guy from the keiser chiefs has is pretty close to what i'm after)...

here's what it currently sounds like:

i'd like to retain the woody tightness without it opening up too much.
