which chorus pedal
« on: March 11, 2011, 05:04:57 AM »
Which chorus pedal do you prefer the TC Electronics SCF or the new TC Electronics Corona Chorus?  I'm looking ito buy a chorus pedal and have narrowed it down to these two.  The corona is much cheaper, probably more versatile because of the two modes and downloadable artist presets, more flexible, and supposedely copies the SCF, but is its SCF model as good as the real thing?  Since the SCF is so much more expensive I wonder if the SCF is the better pedal.

Only seen clips from the Corona and this new line from TC is pretty impressive for the pricetag. The chorus appeals to me. Like the delay too.

What are you looking for in a Chorus? More distorted or more clean? More subtle or more deep? Mono or Stereo?

I would use it mostly for clean, but sometimes distorted as well.  I don't know yet wether I want subtle or deep, but the corona is supposed to be able to do both.

If I wasn't still liking my Retrosonic I'd get the Corona, some cool sounds in that one.

Well, could start all kinds of discussions analog vs digital etc.

I really like the Jacques Meistersinger for a thick chorus a la Police. The TC is very versatile surely.

Buy in a shop where you can try, or order somewhere with a good return policy (Thomann - 30 days?), so you can try it with your rig.

I like the Retrosonic a lot. If I had one, I would keep the pedal. The Corona offers a lot of bang for the bucks.
