Stoner/doom PU's Need opinions
« on: March 16, 2011, 01:00:34 AM »
Hey guys my name is Jon from Pittsburg Pa. I'm new around here and had to ask...... I ordered a set of matched Stockholms with the bridge made to Pig90 spec. You guys think thats gonna do it for me? They're going in an Edwards E-LP130LTS that currently has seymour duncan antiquity pu's in it. I can't stand them and they are really microphonic because they're not potted. I'm also kind of tired of the humbucker sound. I don't need to get the "heavyness" from my pu's, my Electric Amps MVU-120 and Electric 6x12 can do that for me. But I do need high output and just some real howl that I think the 90's are going to do in spades. Your thoughts?

I haven't got any experience with the Stockholms or the Pig90, but I think you've made the right choice. I think the Pig90 is often mentioned when it comes to doom and stoner.

Please tell us more once you've installed the pickups  :D
