TC electronic flashback vs Digitech DL-8
« on: March 26, 2011, 06:13:35 PM »
Right, I've finally decided to take the plunge and get myself a looper pedal.

After a few weeks of weighing up which pedal to go for I have narrowed it down to these 2. Roughly the same price and I'm not sure which one to go for. They both look well built and are well spec'd. The TC is slightly ahead as it has a longer looping time available although I'm not really sure if I'll be using up to 40 seconds of looping!

Do any of the good people on here have any experience of these?

I've got the toneprint Ian and have tried the Hardwire, they are both really good pedals and both have very basic loopers.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either.

With regards to the looping time I used to run out with my headrush which had 23 seconds.  If you wan to solo over a verse then chorus progression for example you soon run out of time so bear that in mind.

I'm not used to not having an erase function on the looper either which is frustrating, not sure whether the hardwire does?   I think I'll have to buy a dedicated looper when funds permit but in the meantime the toneprint is easy to use and handy for basic stuff.

The TP eats batteries, definitely needs a PSU.

the delays on both sound very good....

Ah, didn't think about the erase functions. Maybe I should look at a Jam Man solo as well! Cheers for the response!

Well, I changed my mind at the last minute and ordered a Jam Man solo. Should be here on Tuesday.
