Thanks for understanding
Well actually I play them almost exactly half-half... Not particularly because one provides a Tele sound etc, but because one is singles and the other is Humbucking. I'm starting to think that my original idea of getting a P90 guitar would be spreading it too thin, and that I should concentrate on the two major sound groups first.
Yes it has an Edge 3. I've blocked it up so now it's solid but the big cavity is still there...
And good point about the pickups not suiting the new guitar, noted. The new guitar will almost certainly be a typical mahogany guitar, probably a Les Paul from Gibson or Edwards etc. I may even go for an SG
What my budget allows at the moment is an upcoming purchase of less than about £450, and then about £1000 early next year. So my first buy would probably be new Tele pickups BUT this would be a good time to buy Humbuckers... But as you said I wouldn't know if it would suit the new guitar. In the meantime id probably keep them in the Ibbie.
The second buy would be the guitar (which I'm having trouble deciding on)
Guitars:
Warmoth Jazzmaster
Telecaster Standard
Ibanez RG370
Ibanez GSZ

Amp: Fender Hot Rod

Oh and by the way, since I don't have the cash to dish out on a solo guitar, I'll use a new thread for seemingly general talk. I'll leave this one open for people to talk about solo pickups though.

Although you can get a very good guitar for about £450 (especially if you had the proceeds of your RG370 to go with it), I'd agree that it might be more prudent to leave the guitar purchase until next year when funds will be easier. I certainly wouldn't think of putting BKP in the Ibanez though as basswood is very different to mahogany and an SG is supposed to be particularly difficult to kit out with pickups. JUst concentrate on pickups for your Tele and on that, I'll leave that to others as I know nothing at all of Tele pickups.
