Ha! Thanks Philly.  That's what 20 mins of sanding the primer and stripper residue on 80 grit gets you. Didn't even go to 120 before I started applications. It's fine though. Looks and feels good with 6 wipes, wire wool after the 3rd. Spent some time on the neck, now. Reshaping it was quick, but they put some kind of man made laminate on the headstock face which was a pain and I ran out of paper before it all came off. It wouldn't peel and was reddish orange under the white topcoat. I can say it is kinda fun just running through this real fast with no real concern for the end product or total failure.

I'm trying to keep it real low cost, Choucas. Those polymerized Danish oils and whatnot aren't too different for me to go out and buy a new can vs finishing the one I'm using now. It's a low-gloss one and it ends up a real thin finish so "close enough" I guess. It's not like PlyRhoads will be my #1. It's just for fun.

So it played pretty well the other night, surprised me really. Gonna shell out a little bit more. All the little girls can't be belle of the ball, but I feel I should put a little lipstick on this piggy just so she feels pretty. I have some black tuners sitting in a box someone gave me, so I'm gonna ream the holes and install them as the ones that were on it were pretty hard to dial in. Might as well shell out $26 for a black trem from Guitar Fetish while I'm at it. Ah, $%&#. I'm gonna need a black nut now. Ok, if I can keep it under $75 total, guitar included, I'll be good.

Put it back together with the black tuners and without the pup rings. Deciding to not put any extra money in it. Screw the black trem. It'll be fine on the wall where it'll be mostly just looking the part. Was a fun project and I'll probably pick it up and tune it every once in awhile at least.

Advice worth what you just paid for it.
