BKP CTS special pots
« on: May 24, 2011, 09:10:12 PM »
Hi Folks

Apart from the obviously slightly brighter tone from the BKP special 550's compared to the standard 500's, what is the thinking behind offering them? How will they affect a Holy diver bridge PU

Cheers
Nothing sounds like a Skyline GTR ...... but BKP comes close!

I do believe it's just to do with the tolerance, normally pots are rated to a +/- 10% so therefore a pot rated 550kΩ could be anywhere 50k either side of the target value and will never be under 500k as those can sometimes be denoted a bit dull.

They are really nice - have a nice even taper and the resistance to turning is very sweet too
I always keep them in stock along with the fab (if a bit big) BKP/Jensen capacitors
