I have 3 guitars and I'm wondering which pickups to use. I'll list them below with the sound I'm trying to achieve:
Ibanez ARZ700 - Mahogony Body/Set-Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, Hardtail, 2 Humbuckers, 24-frets.
For this guitar I'll be playing metalcore style music in Drop C.
(Bridge) - I want a pickup that sounds heavy (obviously) but is also capable of sounding full when playing leads and solos.
(Neck) - For the neck I want it to obviously calibrate perfectly with the neck. I'll be playing most of my sweeps and shred solos on this so I'd like it to stay sharp and articulate and not too bassy on the lower strings - I find Les Paul style guitars can get bassy on the low strings.
Ibanez S570b - Very Thin Mahogony Body/Bolt-On 3-Piece Maple Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, ZR Trem, H-S-H, 24-frets
For this guitar I'll be playing a range of styles within the metal genre in E standard/Drop D; mostly Progressive Metal.
(Bridge) - I'm looking for a pickup that tracks fast technical riffs very well and has a good sound when soloing. I'd require a pickup where you can hear each individual note, when playing chords, under high gain. This pickup I'd like to be a 50:50 lead/rhythm pickup. Think of John Petrucci.
(Neck) - For the neck I'm looking for a very Petrucci-y sound where I can do effortless sweeps and solos. I think I already have this one picked out anyways...The Cold Sweat.
(Middle) - Just looking for a pickup to balance in between the 2 humbuckers tbh.
Warmoth Custom - Basswood Body/Bolt-on Quatersawn Maple Neck, Ebony Fingerboard, Floyd Trem, H-S-H, 22-frets
This guitar is my pure soloing guitar in E standard.
(Bridge) - I'm looking for a versatile pickup that provides a beautiful soloing tone; that kind of singing but powerful tone. I'd also like it to clean up when rolling back the volume.
(Neck) - For the neck I'm looking for the same description as I gave for the bridge. Something very beautiful sounding.
(Middle) - Just looking for a pickup to balance in between the 2 humbuckers tbh.
Bit of an essay but I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks!
