BKPs For A Schecter C-7 (7-String)
« on: August 03, 2011, 09:46:25 PM »
I was wondering what kind of BKPs would be suited for a Schecter C-7 (Mahogany Body, Maple Set Neck - 26.5 scale, Tone Pros Bridge)?  Of course it is for rip your head off type metal in the vein of Nevermore and some of the Scandinavian metal!!!  The Duncan JB  is not bad, but i want more of a crushing PU.   Also, The Duncan SH1 for the neck is really not made for this guitar.   I play through an Engl Savage 120.

Probably the Miracle Man or Nailbomb.
I do not own a Bare Knuckles pickup, but I've been studying the responses and sound clips.

What makes you want a BKP, in the first place?

I put a ceramic warpig into my BC Rich Jr V 7.  It's mahogany body, maple neck.  At first I thought I'd done the wrong thing as there was too much bass, too dark. But I pulled back the bass and added some mids and now I love it.  Only thing I'm unsure is my sound through a better amp as I have a 30 watt Marshall and I run a Boss MT-2 and GE-7 through it or a Boss ME-50 with the OD-1 and it's settings on 10.  I don't have a HM-2 for the classic Swedish death metal sound but the OD-1 does head down that path but just not fully down the left hand path.

I say painkillers. When you say scandinavian metal PLUS nevermore, i presume the new, more modern tones coming out of sweden. To my ears they're quite direct, and sharp. Which makes the painkiller the obvious choice. Got one myself, and i love it!!

Well mostly for Nevermore type of stuff!!! I though about the Painkillers though or the MM.  When refering to the Nailbomb, do you mean the Alnico or the Cermanic bridge version?

I would assume ceramics would be more up your alley.
