Pickup suggestions for my axe?
« on: August 21, 2011, 01:23:08 PM »
I've been looking at getting a set of Bare knuckle pick ups based largely on internet research alone. So I could really use some advise from people who have used them before!

The guitar in question is an Ibanez IC300 2003 model. I am unsure on the body wood, research tells me its Basswood. Hardware wise it's very similar to a Les Paul in terms of bridge (Ibanez Full Tune II) and layout. The neck is bolt on IC neck made from 3 piece maple. 1 tone, 1 volume, 3 way toggle.

Musically I play Metal (more the modern stuff than classic metal), Thrash, Metalcore and anything along the lines of the afore mentioned. But I would also like a decent clean sound. I use both standard and drop tunings, though I bought this guitar for drop tunings mainly.

Which of the line-up would you suggest? I will mention I'm replacing 2 humbuckers so I'll be looking for a calibrated set or a combination of pups.

Anything else you need to know just ask, and I apologise if this is a little vague...after a night out on the razz can you blame me? :P

Cheers!

Not an expert, but the Miracle Man seems the one for the job.
