Looking for a Tele bridge

Hey guys! First time on the forum here. I'm looking for the perfect Tele set, and I LOVE all of the BKP clips. Through my (pretty minimal) experience with teles, I've always liked the slightly hotter 43AWG broadcaster types. The Flat 50's fits my description quite well. However, it would be nice to have an even hotter, darker tone in there as well. I was thinking about getting a Piledriver or an overwound Flat 50's and tapping it to 10.5K. My question is, will a tapped Piledriver sound similar to a Flat 50's? Or conversely, will an overwound Flat 50's sound similar to a Piledriver?

I'm not a technical guy, but their voicings are quite different due to <rah rah rah> and I think you just have to decide what style you'd play and the general idea of tone. A hotrodded vintage Tele would be your Flat 50. Those are hot enough for most

I don't have the Piledriver, but what I heard from clips is that it's used for modern styles, even heavy metal. Maybe it's a bit more modern voiced then the Flat50, which has a fierce 10,6k. A bit less then the Piledriver, but more then the VHII in my HSS-strat. I think they both work for what you want, but if you want to stay close to that early broadcastertone I would stick to the BG50's. BKP will do some special requests if you ask them nicely, however these pickups are a result of meticulous research and craftmanship. The dc-resistances are choosen with a clear purpose.

i just put a set of flat 50s in my tele and i can say that it makes my guitar sound MASSIVE. huge lows (for a single) pissed off mids and that tele bite that we all know and love. need to darken it up? use that tone knob!

 :) The toneknob is the steeringwheel on  a tele.

I have a Flat '52 in one Tele and a Piledriver in another. The Piledriver is a very compressed, modern sounding pickup. If you want regular Tele but with more oomph I'd say that the Flat 50 or perhaps The Boss would be more appropriate. The Flat 52 is pretty tasty even if it's slightly lower output too.

Or if you want nice trad Tele, don't overlook the Country Boys though I must admit the later model BKPs are very appealing.
