I don't have the Piledriver, but what I heard from clips is that it's used for modern styles, even heavy metal. Maybe it's a bit more modern voiced then the Flat50, which has a fierce 10,6k. A bit less then the Piledriver, but more then the VHII in my HSS-strat. I think they both work for what you want, but if you want to stay close to that early broadcastertone I would stick to the BG50's. BKP will do some special requests if you ask them nicely, however these pickups are a result of meticulous research and craftmanship. The dc-resistances are choosen with a clear purpose.
