What pickups for my new "to be" custom guitar?
« on: September 07, 2011, 03:50:56 PM »
I've had some great recommendations for pickups for my other guitars from people in forums, and I just wanted to say thankyou again for taking the time to read my thread and reply.

I've started this new thread to get recommendations for which pickups I should get for my new "to be" custom guitar.
Its going to be an:

Alder Randy Rhoads V style Body;
Quatersawn Maple, Neck-Thru Neck with 24 Fret Ebony Fretboard;
H-H config, with Original Floyd Rose .

As with this guitar, I'll be playing the same music I do on my other guitars, except they are all Mahogany, and this is Alder/Maple. The music I'll be playing is in the style of Metalcore bands such as: All That Remains, Bullet For My Valentine, Atreyu, Asking Alexandria, Parkway Drive, Attack Attack, We Came As Romans, Scar Symmetry, etc. You get the point, haha! Basically something to play heavy riffs, as well as fast picked articulate riffs, fast solos, crushing breakdowns and searing leads. I'll be playing this guitar in Tunings Drop B, C Standard, Drop C and D Standard. Mainly in the dropped tunings though.

Again thanks for yet again taking the time to read and reply :)

Changing around tunings a lot will get a bit tedious with a Floyd Rose tremolo surely if the floyd is set to floating.

We like the sound of the guitar though and have done similar in the past although most of our recent pointy stuff has been Vs.

This one had Warpigs.......

Well to be honest Its gonna either be in Drop B or Drop C. I haven't really decided yet. Would just be nice to have a pickup that can do both if I ever decide to change :)

Hmm, that sounds more like Aftermath. Supertight, even downtuned.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
