Nantucket/Supermassive 90 vs Lollar P90
« on: September 13, 2011, 12:41:33 AM »
I was wondering if anyone knew how these pickups stacked up to each other in terms of bass, mids, and treble. Feel free to add in any other little descriptive terms if you like, I'm just having trouble deciding between said pups.

Never played the Lollar, heard many clips though. It's praised a lot. In output it sits between the Nantucket and the Supermassive. Those two have a different voicing and output. The Nantucket sounds like the classic p90 from the fifties/sixties. The hotter Supermassive has way more mids and lows. Think Matt Bellamy from Muse. Great for modern rock.

I have played the Lollar P90. Very good pickups indeed. Classic output level so the Nantucket should be closer to it than the Supermassive. Never played a BKP P90 model, though.

Cheers Stephan
