BKP Black Hawks... Clips? Release Date?
« on: September 20, 2011, 04:43:43 PM »
I haven't heard anything as of yet... anyone have any clips or info on release date? How does it compare to any of the other pickups? (Specifically the Painkiller)...

Thanks!

there is a thread somewhere with clips in it.

I believe the release date is quite far off being late winter or early spring

There is gona be ZERO answers to your questions I'm afraid. The only ones that have one are Nolly and Bulb and they won't spoil the party ;)

However, you can hear the clips Nolly did on his Soundcloud. They sound pretty awesome actually.

Thanks for the info fellas... just wondering how it compares to the other line of BKP's... those Nolly clip's definitely sound good... but only problem is that they sound as good as the all the other stuff Misha and Nolly do with their other hundreds of guitars with different pickups that they get every week...

No specs have been released.

I believe all that is known is the name.

The fact it has 4 blades per pickup

and those clips

Exactly. Getting guys like that to demo stuff for you is pretty much cheating, in a way.

It would be great if they did a "shootout" style clip for all of their pickups... where the same riff (or riff styles) and solo(s) would be played and uploaded as a dry clip (in both the neck and bridge positions)... because it is so easy to "re-amp" in today's day and age that we could finally hear the "true" differences between the pickups without having to buy, install, remove, sell, buy, install, remove, sell... where in my case the install/remove would have to be done by someone that  I'd have to pay good money too... :(

all the clips on the BKP site are all the same track played int he same way by the same person.

unfortunately they were all done with an axe fx so they all sound extremely similar and have some odd high end stuff going on

Nolly posted the raw DI clips of the modern metal ones a while ago.

Anyway, a recording will NEVER tell you anything about the feel and responsiveness of the pickup. They're also recorded with the same guitar, so they can sound totally different in yours. Trial an error is the way to go I'm afraid
