Any neck pickup similair to EMG 60 or Duncan Jazz?
« on: October 07, 2011, 05:02:25 AM »
The subject says it all. I'm looking for a neck pickup with delicious clean tones, and my favorite neck pickups in the past have been the EMG 60 and the jazz. The EMG 60 being my fav. I dont really use the neck pickup for much other than clean tones, or something less hot to switch to during stoppy bits as I dont like to use a gate.

I have a nailbomb neck, which is nice, but its not gelling with me as I had hoped it would have. I play metal, but use a fair amount of cleans in both leads and rhythms. Ive been thinking cold sweat but I know thats more oriented towards sweeps etc as opposed to big chimey cleans.

The holy diver neck also looks like it might suit me... I really like the bridge version I have anyways!

Any opinions?

Thanks!

For clean neck humbucker tones I always read that the Holydiver neck does it well - cannot confirm this as I don't have one. I like my Cold Sweat and Rebel Yell neck pickups when played clean. They certainly can do more than just sweeps.
