Pickups For My Les Paul
« on: October 16, 2011, 01:31:34 AM »
I am new to this forum and I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on pickups choices for my 2004 Gibson R8 Les Paul, I am looking for a set of pickups that will do blues/blues rock, classic rock, punk and 80's hair metal all in one pickup. I play through a modded Marshall JCM 800 and stock JCM 800's as well, plus I have various vintage low wattage amps as well. I was thinking about a set of Black Dogs or a set of Crawlers, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Black Dogs! If you like Jimmy Page, that sets you right in that ball park. They are very versatile and bridge the gap to modern styles really well.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

Black Dogs yes. If you're guitar is on the dark side, maybe RiffRaffs. Tight and punchy enough for metal too.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
