« on: October 14, 2011, 05:34:55 PM »
mark iic+ and parametric eq aside, will the c-pig or holydiver get close to metallica's mop's tone and response?

iirc, hetfield was still using invaders on mop yes?

I'd pick the cold sweat or the ceramic nailbomb
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

tried both nailbomb and miracle man and they didn't achieve what i was looking for. the nailbomb was too loose where the miracle man is scooped and more suited for the justice tone.

guessed that left me with the c-pig, holydiver and rebel yell.

yeah you can set it higher to the strings, and turn up the mids a little on the amp.

James mainly used for that MOP era two guitars Flying V with SD invader and Explorer with EMG 81...So you could try C Pig or Painkiller as well..They used /modded/ Mark IIC+ just as preamps slaved them to JPM/JCM heads /used as power amps/...They used Mesa Quad preamps,Furman EQs and Marshall cabs as well...I think tese things are more important than pickups....
have CWP,MM...had AM,CS,VHII,NB,PK,HD...

scooped mids = miracle man
Leaving a 400 lbs waitress a tip is still considered cow-tipping and is a felony in some states.

I'd also say the Miracle Man works the best.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog
