So, this is just more or less hypothetical ... for now at least

I'm really digging Carcass' tone on the Heartwork album, which is basiccally a Marshall 30th anniversary mixed with a 6505 I think. Also Killswitch Engage seems to taken this approach. I'm hooked on the 6505+ brutalz but also start gassing when synyster gates solos in the song critical Acclaim at LBC live (Yeah sorry for my taste in music)

I'm sure many of you know the sound of a tubescreamer boosted JCM800, so I thought - why not both? or even both at the same time...

Atm I got a 6505+ 112 60 watt I made into a head, fed into an Orange PPC412, while running an rp1000 in 4 cable method to bypass the preamp in the 6505+ for clean sections.

Now is it at all possible (with some crazy wiring??) to buy 50 watt JCM800, rewire my ppc412 in cross-stereo and then run the 6505+ and the jcm800 into the cab at the same time, each occupying 2 v30 speakers.

It seems to be possible with an A/B/Y box, but only if the guitar signal is directly fed into the input of the amp, and not into the RP1000 like here. So what to do?
Would I need like 3 A/B/Y boxes with a buffer for 2x inputs 2x send and 2x return to have the effects of the rp1000 running through both amps? Or will I just blow the whole thing up?
Or even worse, will the signal drop to near cr@p since it's split so many times ;)?

Just a hypothetical question of course

Kind regards Christian

i don't know about the effects set up, but the two heads into one cab will certainly work, although the orange would need to be rewired.  a Marshall 1960 has a mono/stereo switch, where in mono you have all four speakers, and stereo you have two 8 ohm inputs, each one feeding two speakers.  i have run two 50 watt heads into this with no problems.  sounds great when set up right :)

just make sure it's wired right and the two speakers have enough power handling for whatever you feed them, which a pair of V30's will have
cry HAVOC!! and let slip the pigs of war!!!

will work if your amps are in phase.
which is why some ABY pedals have a phase switch on one output... in case your amps are out of phase.

Sweet! - Then I just need to figure out how to run my effects both in loop and up front through both amps at the same time, without having two of everything
